Working on a 2018 Ford Transit, a front-wheel-drive vehicle. Today, we are performing a ball joint replacement. The reason for this is a torn dust boot, which allowed dirt to enter the joint, causing it to knock. The design here is quite tricky: the ball joint is press-fitted into the steering knuckle and secured with a snap ring. For removal, we will use a slide hammer, and for installation, we will select an appropriate press tool and fit it using a regular hammer, after cleaning and preparing
